Lillian Caroline Bowers

	Mrs. Lillian Caroline Bowers, of Nashville, formerly of Du Bois, departed this life at the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 2 p.m.  She was 95.
	Mrs. Bowers was born at Du Bois on January 30, 1908, the daughter of Henry and Emma (nee Hesker) Bender.  She was untied in marriage to Lyman 'Lee' Bowers at Paducah, Ky. on April 16, 1933 and to this union two sons were born.  He preceded her in death on March 10, 1996.
	Lillian was a homemaker and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Nashville.  Mrs. Bowers served her church as pianist and a Sunday school teacher for several years.  Lillian was also active in the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary and the Washington County Home Extension.
	Left to mourn her passing are two sons, Glen L. Bowers and wife Diana of rural Ashley and Alan R. Bowers Sr. and wife Jill of Nashville; five grandchildren, William Lee Bowers and wife Diane of Olathe, Kansas, Robert Dean Bowers and wife Sara of Aurora, Colorado, Alan R. Bowers Jr. and wife Lori of Du Bois, Amy Ruth Thompson and husband Scott of Nashville and Aaron Ross Bowers of Newark, Delaware; six great-grandchildren, Christopher, David, Jacob and Galen Bowers and Sydney and Emily Thompson; nieces; nephews, other relations and friends.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, L. Lee Bowers; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Bowers; two brothers, William Bender in infancy and Arthur Bender and a grandchild, Glenda Kay Bowers.
	Funeral services were held at the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville on Monday, June 23 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Carter officiating.  Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery of Nashville.
	Friends called at the Campagna Funeral Home Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 7:30 a.m. until time of services.
	Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Nashville.
